We have rented a house for 6 months in Tono City, part of Iwate prefecture, and located near the train station. Because Toono City is close to Kamaishi, Ofunato, and Rikuzentakdada, cities that suffered serious damage due to the earthquake and the tsunami, it will be used as a base for Japan Church of God’s volunteer activities. Though Toono City was not hit by the tsunami, it experienced damage from the earthquake. Other organizations have also established volunteer bases in Toono City.

Pastor Nobuyoshi Nagai of Tohoku Chuou Church requested our help to remove mud from a clothes store in Kisennuma from April 21st to 22nd. Though it was hard work, we were able to safely take out all of the mud within the shop with the cooperation of many people.
